Houston - Heatlok Soy
Spray Right, Inc. applied Demilec Heatlok Soy spray foam insulation to a 20,000 sq. ft. meat packaging plant in Houston, Texas. This high-performance, closed-cell, rigid polyurethane foam was sprayed at two inches to insulated refrigeration panels. The Demilec Heatlok Soy spray foam insulation fully adhered to the substrate providing a seamless, monolithic air barrier.
Demilec Heatlok Soy spray foam insulation is used for commercial and residential perimeter wall insulation. Demilec Heatlok Soy spray foam insulation uses environmentally friendly technology to provide a solution to the challenges of achieving energy efficiency. Demilec Heatlok Soy spray foam insulation is the most technologically advanced and efficient form of insulation for improving the performance of a building. A single application creates an air moisture and vapor barrier that adds to the building's structural integrity.

Houston - Sealection 500
Spray Right, Inc. applied Demilec Sealection 500 spray foam insulation at 5 1/2 nominal inches (R-21+) to the roof deck (covering stud faces) of a 3900 sq. ft. home. The walls and gable ends were also insulated at 3 1/2 nominal inches (R-13) with Demilec Sealection 500.
By applying Demilec Sealection 500 spray foam insulation to the underside of the roof deck instead of the floor of the attic, it effectively extended the home's envelope to include the attic space. Because this house was insulated with Demilec Sealection 500 spray foam insulation in the walls and roof, creating the unvented attic space, it will have the lowest attic temperature ever achieved for a stick built construction. The unvented attic assembly will maintain a delta of only seven to ten degrees warmer temperature than the air conditioned space below. Demilec Sealection 500 spray foam insulation will reduce the heat load on the house and its HVAC system and ductwork, dramatically changing the overall performance and comfort of the house.
Closing soffits, gable and ridge vents, also prevents moisture-laden outside air from entering the attic and the home or building and serves as a barrier to wind-driven rain. Demilec Sealection 500 spray foam insulation has been rated to withstand gust wind conditions up to 160 miles per hour. Water entering homes through soffits and gable vents proved to be the second highest cause of property damage from Florida's Hurricane Charlie. As a result, the Florida Hurricane Advisory committee has changed building codes to support the use of unvented attics.
